It is of course possible that conditions will have changed by the time that the circuits are working satisfactorily

but in adopting a final figure I shall keep in view the

necessity of imposing rates sufficiently high to avoid

cutting out telegraphic correspondence.

It will be seen from the accompanying indents

that the estimated cost of new Equipment is in the neighbour-

hood of £7,000. Funds have been provided for this

purpose under Head 32, Sub-Heads 22 and 23 in the Estimates

for 1934, and I have the honour to request your formal

approval of the installation.

In the event of that approval

being given I shall be glad if the accompanying indents, with

the attached memorandum, may be forwarded to the Crown

Agents for the Colonies with instructions to arrange for their execution.
